2nd Annual EARTH LOVE FESTIVAL: Building Bridges

Amethyst Retreat Center
Duncannon, Pennsylvania
June 28-30th, 2019

About Earth Love Festival

Education, Exploration, Celebration, Inspiration, Community, Love

The Earth Love festival grew out of my desire to experience and share joy, forge connections in our community, and understand different perspectives on how to live in harmony with each other and the Earth.

The Earth Love festival is my way of sharing my gifts to create beauty.

I hope you will join me as the Earth Love festival evolves into its second year.

With love,

Nicole Sharkey

44 Buffalo Creek Road, Duncannon Pennsylvania

Amethyst Retreat Center is an inspiring environment dedicated to discovering innovative and meaningful ways of living, learning and healing. More than a beautiful, peaceful haven, it is a center for an evolving culture of wellness through connection with Nature, connection with our personal Spiritual Source, and collaboration with each other. We have no religious or political affiliation; rather, we are part of humanity’s awakening to a culture of respect and inclusiveness for all love-based religions, traditions, cultures and ways of being.

Being the change we want to see, discovering our true Nature together!

Keynote Speaker: Pat McCabe, Woman Stands Shining

Pat McCabe

Back by popular demand, Pat McCabe (Weyakpa Najin Win, Woman Stands Shining) is a Diné (Navajo) mother, grandmother, activist, artist, writer, ceremonial leader, and international speaker. She is a voice for global peace. She draws upon the Indigenous sciences of Thriving Life to reframe questions about sustainability and balance, and she is devoted to supporting the next generations, Women’s Nation and Men’s Nation, in being functional members of the “Hoop of Life” and upholding the honor of being human.

Her primary work at the moment is:

  • The reconciliation between the masculine and feminine, Men’s Nation and Women’s Nation
  • Remembering, recreating or creating a new narrative for the Sacred Masculine
  • Addressing the Archetypal Wounding that occurred in our misunderstanding and abuse of technology in prayer, ceremony and science

Guardian Spirits, River Worship and the Susquehanna River:

This presentation will delve into earth spirits, the ancient practice of the river goddess worship, and the spiritual connection between the Susquehanna River and the Seine River in France.

At our evening ceremony, Michael will build the Starboard, an artistic representation of the zodiac, to reflect the exact positioning of the heavenly bodies during Earth Love Fest.  This is both an excellent teaching and ceremony tool, taking astrology from a mental concept to something tangible and approachable.

Musicians

Indian Summer Jars

Indian Summer Jars creates a sound that is unique and upbeat, dynamic and bold. Expect high energy performances with harmonies and vocals reminiscent of Indigo Girls and Natalie Merchant. With creative guitar tunings and strong, earthy rhythms, we bring you uplifting songs inspired by travel, discovery, growth and transformation. There is no doubt the lyrics, music, and voices of these beautiful humans will stir your soul.

Cumberland Honey

Hailing from the heart of Cumberland county, Virginia Masland and Steph Landis bring sweet harmonies with folk influences, soul and a taste of bluegrass. Their original songs weave stories of life, love and a call to social action.

Shrimp Ryan Jig Band

Shrimp Ryan Jig Band - Earth Love Festival in Duncannon

Shrimp Ryan Jig Band plays old time Appalachian tunes and Irish traditionals on banjo, mandolin, bass, guitar & fiddle.

Kevin Koa

Small-batch home brewed guitar driven soul and blues organically grown in Pennsylvania. Kevin Koa combines instrumental focus and rhythmic articulation with conscious lyrics. Catch Kevin at bars, breweries, and free-range street performances across the East Coast and, soon, the country.

Hollan

A folk singer/songwriter from Central Pennsylvania has spent the last several years or her early twenties traveling and writing music about the stories that have come from those travels. Her music rings in a depth to make you feel and a sound to make you sing and it won’t be soon forgotten.

Workshops

Experiencing Heartfelt Connection, Sarah Poet
www.yourembodiedbreath.com

In this experiential workshop, you will share connection with new and old friends, witness the deep truths of these sacred others, and see that authentic connection is available when we lead with conscious intention and heart.

Creative Spirit Dance and Drumming Renewal, Lara Vracarich
Creative Spirit Fusion

Through guided and freeform movement and rhythm, we will get in touch with the universal life force energy, with nature, with each other and with our ancestors through the ancient tradition of uniting in community dance and rhythm. We will co-create a communal rhythm and dance catharsis, recharging ourselves, cleansing our energy bodies and sending healing vibrations and prayers throughout the planet.  Some drums and shakers will be provided but feel free to bring your own. No experience necessary, all ages welcome and all encouraged to go at their own pace.

Sound Bath Journey with Jaque Hanson

Everyone has a vibration that is the signature of their health and wellbeing. When you experience deep relaxation through soothing, resonant sound, the body is affected on a cellular level, opening up the flow of energy to move us back toward vibrational alignment with physical, mental and spiritual health and wellbeing.

Farmers

Jade Family Farms

Connect with the earth at Amethyst Retreat

Our Mission is to provide wholesome, nutritious food to our fellow humans while protecting and nurturing the part of the earth we steward.  Further, we strive to create a dynamic, diverse, and beautiful farm environment, have a ton of fun, and make a decent living doing it. We’re still working on that last part, but the rest is falling into place nicely.

Rising Locust Farm

We are a collective of people living in community who seek to trust and follow in the wisdom of natural systems as the foundation of our actions. We move with intention in our relationships with all beings, recognize their interdependence and inherent worth, so that earth, people, and communities can thrive.  We work toward shifting unjust social structures, regenerating land, and healing each other while producing nourishing food.

Spiral Path Farm

Our farm is located in South Central Pennsylvania, in scenic western Perry County, between the Tuscarora and Blue Mountain ranges. Near the town of Loysville, Spiral Path Farm is home to the Brownback family since 1978.

We farm all of the 300 acres organically and have been USDA certified organic since 1994
